peas with potato and ham from teruel
Ingredients for 4 people:
- 250 g. medium sized peas.
- 1 potato
- Extra virgin olive oil.
- Sea salt (coarse).
- Half a large onion.
- 250 g. of ham from Teruel.
Delicious peas with ham from Teruel.
Fill a saucepan with water and bring to the boil. When the water boils, add the salt and the potato (peeled and chopped) and cook on a medium heat.
Cover the peas with enough water to cook them for 15 minutes.
After the potatoes have been cooking for ten minutes, prod some of the pieces so that they break up a bit and bind what is left of the water into a light stock, add the peas and cook for another 5 or 6 minutes.
Then, take the pan of the heat and stir.
In a frying pan, fry the half an onion (finely chopped) and the Teruel ham (diced).
Add the ham and the onion to the potatoes and peas in a serving bowl and mix together and leave to stand a few minutes before serving. c
