Natural beauty treatments with olive oil
The properties of
extra virgin olive oil rich in vitamin E and fatty acids make it a
product with great cosmetic benefits for the skin. Olive oil among other
properties acts as a moisturiser for the skin hydrating it and giving it
elasticity. It also delays the aging process of the skin through its
antioxidant compounds.

The properties
of
extra
virgin olive oil
have been known since
ancient times by
peoples
such as
Egyptians
and Greeks.
Olive oil is an
important ingredient in the making of beauty creams as much for
facial treatment as for body and hair. Currently this tendancy is on the
rise; there are many cosmetic products
available on the market whose
manufacturing are based in olive oil. Below are several recipes that
anybody could make in their own home, suggested for skin and hair
treatment.
FACE CREAMS
Egg Cleansing Cream
Ingredients: 1 egg, 1 small cup of extra
virgin olive oil, 1 soup spoon of cider vinager, 1 teaspoon of sugar
Process: Beat all of the
ingredients together, add the oil last and beat again until you acquire
a creamy consistency.

Almond Cleansing Cream
Ingredients: 1 tablespoon
of extra virgin olive oil, 4 tablespoons of crushed almonds, half a
teaspoon of powdered boron and 1 cup of hot water.
Process: Beat all of the
ingredients together until blended and with a creamy consistency.
Honey Mask
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of
extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon of liquid honey, the white of 1 egg
beaten unti stiff, 1 tablespoon of oatmeal or any other meal (You can
substitute the white of the egg for the yolk if you so wish).
Avocado Mask
Ingredients: 2 tablespoons
of pulped avocado, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 1
tablespoon of oatmeal.

CREAMS
FOR FACIAL
AND
BODY
USE
Avocado
nourishing cream
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of beeswax, one pinch of borax (sodium borate), 1 soup spoon
of extra virgin olive oil, 3 soup soons avocado oil, 1 soup spoon of
rosewater.
Process: Melt the wax and
the oils in a bowl. Dissolve the borax in the rosewater and mix it with
the oils, stirring until you achieve a creamy consistency and the cream
has cooled down.

Creams with an olive oil base
contribute to reducing dryness of the skin and, in addition, assists in
its nutrition and elasticity.
Nutritious Wheat Germ Cream
Ingredients: 2 teaspoons
of beeswax, 1 teaspoon of lanolin (wool wax/grease), 4 teaspoons of extra virgin olive
oil, 2 soup spoons of distilled water, a pinch of borax, 2 soup spoons
of wheat germ oil.
Process: Heat up the
lanolin, the wax and the oil in a bowl until they all melt to a liquid
state. Dissolve the borax in the hot distilled water and add to the
other mixture, stirring until it goes cold, adding at the same time the
wheat germ oil. Whisk the cream throroughly.
Coconut Oil
Moisturiser
Ingredients: 1 teaspoon of
beeswax, half a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil, 2 and a half
teaspoons of coconut oil, 2 soup spoons of distilled water, half a
teaspoon of lanolin and a pinch of borax.
Process: Melt the wax, the
oil and the lanolina together in a bowl. Dissolve the borax in the hot
water and add this solution to the oils. Beat together until the mixture
cools down.
BATH OILS

Bath oils

Lavender Oil
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons
of extra virgin olive oil and 1 teaspoon of lavender oil.
Process:
Mix the oils together and add to a hot bath.
Fennel
and Sage
Oil
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons
of extra virgin olive oil, half a teaspoon of fennel oil, half a
teaspoon of sage oil.
Process: Mix the oils
together and add to a hot bath.
Massage Oils
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons
of extra virgin olive oil, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of sage
oil.
Process: Mix together the
oils and use it to massage your body after doing exercise.
HAIR
CARE
Conditioners to apply before
shampoo:
To apply
these
formulas
is necessary
to follow
the process
described
below.
Heat up the ingredients together in a bowl spread the mixture on your
scalp and throughout your hair. Rub in the conditioner by massaging your
scalp with your fingertips. Cover your head with a warm towel (wet first
with hot water and then squeezed out). Leave it for quarter of an hour
and then wash your hair twice with shampoo, rinsing thoroughly.

Oil
Conditioner:
2 - 3 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil.
Oil, Egg, and Honey
Conditioner: 1 fresh egg, 1 soup spoon of honey, 2 soup
spoons of extra virgin olive oil.
Castor and Thyme Polish: 2 tablespoons of extra virgin
olive oil, 1 tablepoon of castor oil and 10 drops of thyme essence.
Anti-Dandruff Conditioner: 150 grams of virgin olive
oil, 20 grams of castor oil and 20 grams of cologne.
Conditioner to give your
hair body: 1 egg yolk, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin
olive oil, half a glass of beer and the juice of one lemon.
Egg
and Vinager Revitalizer: 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of virgin
olive oil, 1 soup spoon of vinager. To make this product, you must beat
the egg and add the oil gradually and then finally add the vinager.
Olive Oil Shampoo:
half a tablespoon of borax, quarter of a litre of extra virgin olive oil
and half a litre of boiling water. The process is carried out by mixing
the oil and the borax, then pour in the boiling water and allow the
mixture to cool. Bottle the ointment and shake well before use.
