CUTTING
HAM CONTEST In teruel
Teruel
welcomed a Cutting serrano ham Contest with more than 500 persons.
It was the 6th edition of the contest, which took place in Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos
(The Exhibitions and Conferences Palace), and there could be tasted more
than a thousand plates with jamon (ham) from Teruel.
There
were 15 cortadores (people who professionally cuts the ham) from
distinct places of Spain:
Barcelona, Alicante, Málaga, Valencia, Badajoz, Sevilla, Madrid, Córdoba
y Teruel. The jury consisted of some of the members of the Consejo Regulador
for the Teruel Protected Denomination of Origin, of the Turism Businessmen
Association of the winner of the anterior contest. The jury punctuates the
following aspects: the style, the cutting, the presentation of the plate,
the physical appearance, the creativity, the thickness and the size of the
slice, how fastly one cuts the ham (jamon), the cleanliness, the
performance and the precision of the weight of plates.

During the cutting
serrano ham contest there could be tasted more than a thousand plates full of jamon
from Teruel
The
serrano ham
cutting contest lasted for an hour and a half, and the
spectators were able to taste more than a thousand plates filled with the
fifteen hams that the candidates had to slice. We could also mention the
gastronomy contest called
"Aficionados a la cocina" (Cooking amateurs), the International
Paintings of Serrano ham from Teruel contest and The serrano ham from Teruel snacks.
There was also a cutting contest, called "Corte para amantes del Jamón"
(Cutting for the ham lovers),
whose monitor was the winner of the anterior contest.
